Who We Are

Foundation Theatres is an Australian family-owned theatre owner and operator. Our venues are two of Sydney’s premier theatres: The Capitol Theatre and Sydney Lyric. Across our venues we present large scale theatrical shows to over 30,000 patrons per week. Whilst the shows that we present offer unforgettable theatrical experiences, it is our incredible team that ensure that every part of the customer experience is magical.

We are a group of 35 full time employees and over 200 casuals who work closely together on a daily basis to deliver unforgettable theatre experiences to those that visit us. Our people are the hallmark of our success, and in this role, your energy, attitude, and attention to detail is a critical part of making our theatres great venues. What we are Looking for

We are looking for passionate and energetic people to add to our already wonderful team. Working closely with a small, dedicated group, we are looking for all-rounders who love hospitality service, learning new skills and working in a fast paced and exciting environment. Applicants should be hard working, have a love for customer service and a genuine interest in the theatre. Beyond that, we will teach you everything you need to know!

Your role will include elements such as welcoming patrons, scanning tickets, taking patrons to their seats, assisting with ticketing issues and always being a friendly face available to ensure our patrons have an exceptional theatre experience. We will train you on the job and tailor your role to your strengths.

This is a casual position with 8 shifts available per week. Due to the hours being predominantly in the evenings and on the weekend, with most shifts finishing by 11pm, it a wonderful position to support your other work and life commitments.

We provide short shifts with manageable workloads and flexible hours that work wonderfully around university and other career schedules. Rates are as per the Live Performance Award, with generous Sunday rates. You will have the experience of working in the city’s most premium live theatre venues and have access to see the incredible shows in our theatres.
