We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, confident, and impeccably presented individual with a passion for the theatre industry and customer service to join our Patron Services team at our venues, the Capitol Theatre, Sydney Lyric and Foundry Theatre. In this role, you will work directly with the Head of Patron Services and Patron Services Management Team to make our theatres great venues for up to 35,000 weekly visitors. Your ideas, work ethic, workplace pride, team spirit and commitment to safety are respected hallmarks of the role.

This role is perfect for those currently working in theatre Front of House or luxury hospitality environments who are ready to step into a leadership role. You’ll be part of a passionate and professional team delivering outstanding service across Sydney's most iconic live performance venues.

Foundation Theatres continues to grow its operations with the addition of three new venues to come online through 2025 and 2026 in Sydney. We are looking for someone with outstanding communication and customer service skills to join our team through this exciting growth period.

  • This is a front-of-house position focused on guest services within a live performance venue environment. Please note, this is not a food and beverage role.

What We Are Looking For

Working closely with a small, dedicated group, we are looking for all-rounders who love customer service, learning new skills and working in a fast paced and exciting environment. Applicants should be articulate, have a love for customer service and a genuine interest in the theatre.

For performances and events, you will liaise with Box Office and other departments to ensure smooth operations, allocate staff to positions across the venue, lead and support the Ushering team on the floor and monitor House activity, responding to any issues in real time. Oversee VIP guest management, liaise with clients in venue event spaces and assist with special events and support the management team when required.

You will also manage incidents, patron issues and complaints professionally and efficiently, identify when escalation is required as well as assist with RSA responsibilities and first aid situations.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in front line roles in theatre, hotels or high-end hospitality delivering premium customer service with strong IT literacy and administrative confidence.

You will have strong communication skills, the ability to stay calm and lead confidently under pressure and have a collaborative approach to team environments.

Flexibility, reliability and a proactive attitude are essential as is a polished and professional appearance.

This is a casual position, and the hours are generally between 5:00pm – 11:00pm Tuesday – Sunday, with day shifts on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. We are looking for people that can work at least four shifts a week to ensure that we have a small and dedicated team.

All applicants must hold or obtain an NSW RSA qualification.
